DAY 1: Arrival in Venice

Arrival at the airport in Venice. Welcome by your tour escort. Transfer to your hotel in the region of Venice / Mestre / Lido di Jesolo. Dinner and overnight.

DAY 2: Venice

The day will be dedicated to the discovery of Venice, one of these rare sites that exert a very particular kind of fascination. Venice and its lagoon along the Adriatic Sea are listed in the Unesco World Heritage. The island city seems to float on the waters of the lagoon. Built on 118 little islands, Venice is an extraordinary architectural masterpiece. Guided visit of Venice: Discovery of St. Marc’s Square and its basilica (from the outside). After this, visit the Doges’ Palace and its sumptuous apartments, decorated by the greatest Italian artists, and of the Bridge of Sights. The Doges’ Palace is one of the unmissable sights of the city and sums up the whole history of Venice revealing its secret. Lunch on your own. Free afternoon for personal discovery. Lose yourself in the more remote neighborhoods of the city, its forgotten palaces, its secret courtyards, and hidden alleys. Return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight.

DAY 3: Islands of the Venice lagoon – region of Florence / Siena

Departure by boat from Punta Sabbioni for an excursion to the islands of the Venice lagoon. You will discover Murano, the island of glass since the end of the 13th century, a time when the grand Council feared the fires and decided to transfer the glassworks to the island. Then, discover Burano, known for its canals lined with colorful houses and its remarkably fine needle laces manufactured since the 16th century and providing a basis for several European factories. Lunch in a typical restaurant on the island of Burano. In the afternoon, return by boat to Punta Sabbioni. Continuation of Florence. Installation at your hotel in the region of Florence / Siena. Dinner and overnight.

DAY 4: Florence

Departure for Florence. Home of Dante, the father of the Italian
Language and the city of the Medici, a rich Tuscan family who allowed a clear evolution of the city, multiplying the activities in cultural, economic and political matters, Florence offers today a unique panorama. Symbolizing the Italian Renaissance, it is without a doubt the city where the Italian genius is most obvious. During four centuries (from the 13th until the 16th), Florence was a melting pot of a multitude of creative spirits shaping the face of the country but also one of the wholes of Europe. Guided visit of the city: Piazza del Duomo, Piazza Della Signoria, Palazzo Vecchio and medieval Ponte Vecchio, which crosses the river Arno. After lunch (not included), you will visit the Uffizi Gallery (Galleria Degli Uffizi). Leisure time for personal discovery. Your tour escort will stay at your disposal. Return to the hotel. DAY 5: Siena – region of Rome

Departure to Siena, located in the heart of Tuscany. The main interest of this city lies in the fact that it has conserved its face from the 13th and 14th centuries. That’s why Hippolyte Taine (French historian) once said that Siena was “like a Pompei of the Middle Ages”. Guided visit of the city, built on the three hills of reddish clay, a color called “earth of Siena”. The city is known for its scallop-shaped central square, on which every year the patio (one of the hardest horse races in the world) takes place. Visit of the cathedral, walk across magic Piazza del Campo, where the heart of the city beats, and continuation through the gothic streets lined by palaces, passing by Patrician of Rome, capital of Italy. Dinner and overnight on your hotel suited in the surrounding of Rome.

DAY 6: Rome

Departure for Rome, the immortal city, domination for a long time the “civilized world” and the enclosing thousand of one testimony of its very rich past. Its numerous churches, fountains and numberless remains are the fingerprints left by every historical period. Rome is a lively capital. Its lifestyle, well-known “Dolce Vita”, its Mediterranean temperament and its culinary specialties are only some of the treasures which this city invites you to discover. The day will be dedicated to the guided visit of the Italian capital and will start with a discovery of Baroque Rome: the Trevi Fountain (Fontana di Trevi), Piazza Navona, Piazza di Spagna, the Pantheon and Piazza Venezia (from the outside). After lunch (not included), guided visit of Christian Rome: You will discover the Vatican Museums (with obligatory headphones) and their treasures, in particular, the Sistine Chapel with its magnificent roof frescoes, a masterpiece of Michelangelo. The visit will continue with St Peter’s Square (Piazza San Pietro) and its basilica, center of Christianity and rich in artworks, such as the Pieta by Michelangelo. Return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight.

DAY 7: Rome

Guided visit of Ancient Rome: the Palatine, the most famous of the seven hills of Rome, thanks to the legend of the twin brothers Romulus and Remus, the Roman Forum and the Arch of Constantine. Then, visit the Coliseum. Lunch on your own. Leisure time for personal discovery and to stroll through the neighborhoods of the Quirinal. This hill is dominated by the Quirinal Palace, Italy’s presidential palace. It is at the foot of the hill that you will find the Trevi Fountain. This is one of the most beautiful neighborhoods in Rome. There are two little churches particularly interesting, suited next to the palace: Saint Charles’ of the four fountains, created by Borromini, and Saint Andre’s of the Quirinal, designed by its renowned competitor Michelangelo. Return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight.

DAY 8: Departure from Rome

Transfer to the airport of Rome according to flight times. Assistance during check-in and return flight.
